This past Legislative session, the Florida
Legislature passed the “homeowner bill of rights”.
This bill concentrated on Public Adjusters. Know
that a Public Adjuster can help you with your claim against the
insurance company.
Public Adjusters can not solicite you within the
first 48 hours of a loss. A Public adjuster can only solicite you
from 8 AM to 8 PM Mon-Sat.
You also have 3 business days to change your mind and
cancel the contract, it must be in writing with return receipt.
A Public Adjuster can not charge more than 20% for a
loss and no more than 10% in a state of emergency |
